A note from the founder
If you know me, you know that I love to host.
I am the person planning the games nights that run into the early hours, putting together gatherings where people celebrate with genuine energy, and bringing three generations of family around a kitchen table.
I have had the privilege of being part of remarkable communities across the world. While reading Human Sciences at the University of Oxford, I served as President of the university’s African and Caribbean Society. I later completed a Master of Science in African Studies, returned to Oxford to study Organisational Leadership at Saïd Business School, and completed training in interpersonal skills at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Along the way, whether through the Black Business Students Association at Stanford, the sisterhood of American sororities, or student societies across different continents, the lesson was always the same: there is immense power in people being completely, comfortably themselves together.
In my day-to-day work, I serve as Managing Director of ASM, an employee-owned coaching, training, and consultancy practice. We help neurodivergent adults and the teams they work with understand one another, translating between different ways of thinking and helping people build working lives that truly fit them. At its heart, that work is about creating environments where nobody has to shrink or mask who they are.
Nanteza is the community I always wanted to see endure for the long haul.
At university, African, Black, and Caribbean students form some of the deepest bonds of their lives. Yet once graduation arrives, we scatter across cities, industries, and continents, and those friendships can become difficult to sustain.
Nanteza brings that circle back together. It is a worldwide home for current students and alumni alike: a place to find one another across industries, collaborate on new ideas, drop into gatherings wherever you happen to be travelling, and celebrate milestones with friends and family.
Whether it is for the gatherings, the collaborations, or simply having great people around you, I encourage you to apply for membership.
